September 27 is first day of three-day Lubbock Music Fest. Some of the plans for the music fest's opening day:
The following people will be inducted at 5:30 p.m. into the West Texas Walk of Fame, near the statue of Buddy Holly located west of the Buddy Holly Center, 1801 Crickets Ave.: the late Jesse �Guitar� Taylor; Austin-based music producer Lloyd Maines; and Tommy and Charlene (Condray) Hancock, the godfather of West Texas music and his wife.
This will be followed at 6:30 p.m. by a ribbon-cutting for the boyhood home of Cricket Jerry �J.I. Allison, as the house is re-situated on the grounds of the Buddy Holly Center.
A Crickets concert presently is being planned for 7 p.m. at the Cactus Theater, 1812 Buddy Holly Ave., with the fourth annual Jessefest taking place at 8:30 p.m. in Peggy�s garden, adjacent to the Tornado Gallery, 1822 Buddy Holly Ave.
